Mega Manipur school celebrates, honours achievers

Mega Manipur School celebrated its 19th Foundation Day along with 4 felicitation programme for its students who passed the Class X and XII examinations conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) with flying colours, at the school's campus in Yaralpat on Friday.
Speaking as chief guest of the function, Manipur University registrar Prof Wahengbam Chandbabu noted that of many schools set up in the state, many have not been established with the idea of bringing quality education.
He then lauded the infrastructure and location of Mega Manipur School.
The chief guest pointed out that as per the NEP-2020, the rate of higher secondary enrolment is to be in creased by 100 per cent by 2035 contrary to which the rate is around 57-58 per cent till 2021-22 thereby posing a huge challenge in increasing the enrolment by 100 per cent at the current pace.
He then urged Mega Manipur School authority to increase enrolment of students, while calling upon the students to work twice as hard to face against this challenge.
For this, the infrastructure needs to be developed and include the holistic development perspective in the school curriculum.
Chandbabu continued that apart from covering everything under the National Curriculum Framework, teachers should also work not only in a multi-disciplinary manner but auxiliary as well.
Teachers do not have it easy when making the same known to both students and their parents.
Furthermore, there is the need to cultivate students who would not only be educated but also can handle the issues plaguing the society and think with long vision in mind.
There is no quality education if the students are incapable of dealing with the challenges faced by the society, he contended.
Chandbabu then said that the commitment of schools, teachers and stakeholders in the society are important for imparting quality education to students.
As such, he wished that Mega Manipur School provide the same to its students.
Presided over by Mega Manipur Society BOG chairperson Takhellambam Sanajaoba, the programme was also attended by Editors' Guild Manipur president Khogendra Khomdram and AMWJU president Bijoy Kakchingtabam as guests of honour while Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Department director Dr RK Khogendrajit was present as a special guest.
As part of the function, students of the school who secured high marks in the Class X and XII examinations conducted by CBSE were felicitated with presentation of gifts as encouragement.
