FBOs asked to use commercial LPGs

CAF&PD OSD (POL) Haobam Bobby has stated that all food business operators (FBOs) will be arrested if hotel, restaurant, and fast food stall owners do not replace their domestic cylinders with commercial ones within two weeks.
Bobby made this statement to reporters after an inspection visit of restaurants, hotels and fast food stalls in Imphal area on Friday.
He stated that the inspection was conducted under the CAF&PD minister's directive to determine the typa of cooking gas cylinders used in hotels and restaurants as well as reports of some FBOs in Imphal area using domestic cylinders.
During the inspection, many restaurants, hotels and fast food stalls were found using domestic cylinders.
Owners were instructed to replace these with commercial cylinders within two weeks, with necessary actions to follow if the directive is not followed.
He also noted that the state's LPG shortage is due to use of domestic cylinders in commercial establishments.
The inspection visit was also accompanied by Imphal West DC O Ibotombi, officials of CAF&PD and police personnel.
The team inspected FBOs in Keishampat and Mahabali areas.
