Many condole death of H Ibotombi

Imphal, November 21 2024: Apunba Ireipakki Maheirol Sinpanglup (AIMS), League of Indigenous Peoples' Upliftment (LIPUL), Meeyamgi Pothok Puthokpa Lup (MPPL), Iramdam Kanba Apunba Lup (IKAL), Loiyalam Apunba Loumi Lup (LALLUP), Leihou Kanba Khunai Apunba Lup (LK-KAL), People's United Youth Alliance (PUYA), Iramdam Sinpanggi Apunba Khutpu (ISAK) and Kabui Union, Manipur (KUM) have condoled the demise of Heikrujam Ibotombi Khuman, who passed away on November 19 .

In a joint release, AIMS general secretary Khumu-jam Roshan Singh, LIPUL vice president Ph Shyamchand, MPPL vice president S Ibochou, IKAL general secretary W Luwangleima, LALLUP general secretary Sh Romen Meitei, LKKAL president Puyam Joy, PUYA president Sh Lemba Meitei and ISAK president A Sangita remembered H Ibotombi as a leader who led from the front in resolving various issues plaguing the state.

He was president of Poramlen Apunba and International Peace and Social Advancement (IPSA), consultative member of United Committee Manipur (UCM) and convener of Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) .

Calling his demise a great loss for the state, the bodies also shared grief of the bereaved family.

Meanwhile, a condolence meeting chaired by KUM president Dr K Heera on Wednesday observed two minutes' silence in respect of the departed and prayed for his soul to rest in peace, a release by KUM Media Cell said.

It also stated that his demise will forever leave a void especially the Union, adding, he was a man who believed in truth and peaceful co-ex-istence among the indigenes.
