DMC lecturer Dr Ahmed receives Excellence Award

DM College of Arts assistant professor (History) Dr Syed Ahmed has been conferred the Rajiv Gandhi Global Excellence Award 2022 by Rajiv Gandhi Global Excellence Award Foundation in recognition of his achievements and contributions as an educationist.
The award was presented at the 24th Rajiv Gandhi Global Excellence Award Ceremony 2022 held at Park Hotel in New Delhi on Saturday to commemorate the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
Several eminent personalities from different fields were also awarded the Global Excellence Award.
As a part of the ceremony, a seminar was also organised on the theme, 'National Integration and Role of Media'.
Dr Syed Ahmed, associated with several civil society organisations, is presently serving as president of Writers' Union Imphal and is also a member of the Central Executive Committee of All Manipur Muslim (Meitei Pangal) Welfare Association (AMPWA), a civil organisation working for the uplift and empowerment of the Muslim community in the state, with special focus on education.
He served as secretary general of AMPWA from 2014 to 2018 and is also joint secretary of Manipur Historical Society, besides being member of Association of Muslim Academicians (AMA) and Islamic Cultural and Research Association (ICRA).
Dr Syed was also awarded the 5th National Award for Excellence in Education 2021 by Association of Muslim Professionals in recognition of his outstanding services in the field of education and contribution for the society at large.
