Imphal, February 20 2025:
All Manipur Recognised Private Schools' Welfare Association (AMRPSWA) has expressed serious concern over students of P Namjoklung High School missing the High School Leaving Certificate Examination conducted by Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BoSEM) due to non-compliance with the prescribed rules by the school's authorities.
In a release, AMRPSA secretary P Romen Singh deplored that students of the school would not be appearing in their first and most important examination owing to failure by the school's authorities to complete requisite procedures.
The first and foremost requirement is that the student must be enrolled in a recognised pri-vate or government school, he continued, adding that other criteria include registration of the students with office of the ZEO concerned and the BoSEM from Class VIII onwards.
Romen also remarked that the students' future would be bleak in case school authorities and teachers are insincere and irresponsible, while suggesting that individuals, solely driven by profit, refrain from establishing schools.
Such actions not only tarnish the reputation of educational institutions but also undermine the efforts of those who founded schools with the genuine intention of serving the welfare of future generations.
Appealing to parents and guardians to avoid schools that operate sans government recognition, fail to follow proper procedures, and neglect regular classes while treating students as commodities, Romen stated that the unfortunate incident of 31 students debarred from appearing in the HSLC examination occurred due to the trust and hope placed in such schools by parents and guardians.
While urging authorities concerned to take all necessary measures for saving the careers of students who have become victims due to the negligence of school authorities, he demanded exemplary punishment for those responsible to ensure that such incidents does not recur in future.
