Workshop on 'question setting and evaluation' begins

Imphal, August 19 2024: A five-day workshop on 'Technique of question setting and evaluation' organised by the Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM) commenced from Monday at the jubilee hall of Dhanamanjuri University.

COHSEM chairman Takhellambam Ojit, who attended the opening function of the workshop, said teachers of the state need, to set questions at par with the national level in sync with the introduction of National Education Policy-2020 .

There will be a significant change in education system of the country with the coming of National Education Policy (NEP)-2020 .

With the implementation of NEP-2020, teachers of the state are required to set questions based on NEP-2020 and National Curriculum Framework-2023 and such questions should be in competence with CBSE and good state boards, he said and stressed the need for in-depth study of questions being asked at national level competitions.

According to the COHSEM chairman, teachers involved in question setting and.

evaluation have great role to play in effective implementation of NEP-2020.Teachers should set questions which would create no doubt to students and answerable rightly.

When teachers set good questions, students of the state could be compatible with counterparts of other states and take part in the changing education system of the country, he said and stressed that teachers should digest curriculum and syllabus.
