Assam woman found hanging in NSU campus

Imphal, April 19 2025: A 20-year married woman was found handing inside the campus of National Sports University (NSU) in Koutruk under Kamsang PS on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday.

According to a police report, the deceased has been identified as Priyanka Gorh w/o Rajib of Lalcherrate Fanairbond, Assam, currently residing at NSU Koutruk campus.

She worked as one of the labourers engaged in construction of the University.

Priyanka was discovered hanging on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday and was rushed to RIMS Hospital where she was declared dead on arrival.

Lamsang police has registered a UD case in this regard and the dead body is being kept at JNIMS morgue for post mortem examination.
