Dr BR Ambedkar birth anniv celebrated at MU

Imphal, April 17 2025:
The 135th Birth Anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar was organised by Dr Ambedkar Centre of Excellence (DACE), Manipur University, on Thursday at the Centre's lecture hall.
The function was attended by Manipur University vice chancellor Prof N Lokendra Singh, DACE programme co-ordinator Dr S Shantikumar Singh, MU 1QAC director Prof A Rajmani Singh and Department of Law assistant professor Dr Sapam Dilipkurhar Singh as chief guest, president, guest of honour and special invitee respectively.
Addressing the gathering, professor N Lokendra pointed out that India is a diverse and sustainable democratic nation, comprising various communities.
He reminisced Dr Ambedkar, who was the chairman of the Drafting Committee of the Indian Constitution, as a visionary, a tireless worker and a selfless leader who dedicated his life to uplifting people of all religions and castes.
He also noted that the DACE is not only supporting Scheduled Caste students but also taking initiatives for welfare of students from the Other Backward Classes (OBC) and minority communities.
Informing that the Centre has signed an MoU with the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment to support students with physical disabilities, the vice chancellor expressed hope that the Ministry would soon extend the promised benefits.
During the event, Dr Sapam Dilipkumar delivered a lecture on the life and contributions of Dr BR Ambedkar.
