Police launch probe into QNET case

Imphal, January 17 2025:
In connection with the allegations circulating on social media platforms of QNET operatives collecting money with false promise of guaranteed earnings, Imphal police station has registered a sou moto case and launched an investigation on the matter.
On January 13, testimonies of alleged victims of QNET, reportedly a fraudulent company, went viral on social media platforms, prompting Imphal PS to register a sou moto case the same day.
An FIR under section 109(l)/126(2)/127(7)/316(2)/318(4)/351(2)/61(2) of BNS was also registered and investigation launched.
The sou moto case mentioned the names of some active members of QNET.
Since the case was registered, around six victims of the alleged fraudulent company have given statements to the police.
The case further mentioned that the official members of QNET forcibly demanded and took Rs 1 lakh to 3 lakh, promising to provide the victims jobs or business opportunities.
They were further forced to recruit other unemployed youth.
If the victims fail to pay the money or recruit others, they are threatened and confined in a location in Sector 143 Noida.
The case also mentioned the names of the alleged mastermind and active members of QNET.
They are Yengkhom Umendra Singh of Kakching, Akoijam Oken of Mayang Imphal, Kennedy of Wangoi, Heisnam Manikumar of Bishnupur, Moirangthem Babloo of Kakching, Thokchom Saratkumar of Thoubal Wangbal, Ningthoujam Pushpa of Mayang Imphal, Thokchom Milan of Wangbal, Ningombam Dingku Singh of Thoubal Leishangthem, and Rakesh Khomdram of Mayang Imphal among others.
