INF celebrates 78th Naga Independence Day

Imphal, August 16 2024: Imphal Naga Forum (INF) celebrated 78th Naga Independence Day.

at its office with a theme "Rejuvenate nationalism, lest we forget" in a low key manner on Wednesday.

According to a press communique, the programme moderated by INF convenor Ambition Anth was attended by former UNC president and Peace Committee convenor Gaingam Gangmei as chief guest and Manipur High Court senior advocate Daniel Ramsan as guest of honour, while Naga Christian Forum, Manipur (NCFM) vice president Johnny Shimray led the gathering in an invocation prayer.

During the celebration, human rights activist and INF executive member Ramthing Kasar emphasised the immense importance and far reaching consequences of the Framework agreement signed between the top leadership of NSCN (IM) and the government of India on August 3, 2015.The keynote address of the programme was delivered by AS Hongpro Shimray, general secretary, Imphal Naga Forum focusing on the theme, "Rejuvenate Nationalism, Lest we Forget".

The participants also paid tributes to the brave and noble souls who made supreme sacrifices for the Naga nation, it added.
