Fire service, forest officials contain multiple fire incidents

Imphal, February 15 2025: The Manipur Fire Services helped extinguished several wildfires, which were reported in different locations on Saturday.

According to a press release issued by Manipur Fire Services Control Room, a wildfire was reported in Keibul Lamjao National Park at around 12.16pm.Saturday.The fire was quickly brought under control and prevented from causing any damages by the Moirang Fire Service team and staff of forest department.

Meanwhile, at around 1.35 pm, a wildfire was reported at the foothill of Gelmon and Uyung, located not far from Moirang, which was brought under control by a combined team of Moirang Fire Service, CRPF, AR and villagers.

At around 1.45 pm Saturday, Thoubal Fire Service and forest guard worked together to put out a wildfire which had occurred at Saram hill located west of Salungpham, Thoubal district.

On the other hand, a team of Imphal Fife Service help extinguished an inferno in the property of one Phamdom Khoiding Singh in Tharoijam Mayai Leikai, which occurred after the Straws piled up in the property, caught fire at around 1.50 pm .
