Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan reaches over 5,500 farmers in IE

Imphal, June 13 2025:
The Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan (VKSA) 2025, aNationwide campaign aimed at transforming agriculture through scientific intervention was carried out in the State from May 29 to June 12, 2025 .
Under the VKSA 2025, Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Imphal East, organised a series of programmes and activities designed to disseminate advanced agricultural practices, promote sustainable farming, and introduce innovative technologies to the local farming community.
As per a release issued by Krishi Vigyan Kendra Imphal East, the outreach extended to more than 72 villages, engaging 5,531 farmers in Imphal East district, providing them with valuable insights into progressive agricultural practices and technologies.
The campaign was conducted in collaboration with experts/ scientists from ICAR Manipur Centre, Central Agricultural University (CAU), Agriculture Department, Horticulture Department, Veterinary Department, Fishery Department, along with local representatives including village chairpersons, Zilla Parishad members, Pradhans, FPO Chairpersons, board members and village-level secretaries.
Dr Ch Basuda Devi, State Nodal Officer and Head of Regional Centre, ICAR Manipur; Dr Y Prabhabati Devi, District Nodal Officer and Head of KVK Imphal East; and T Dara, general secretary of All Manipur Kishan Sangha, also played pivotal roles in the successful conduct of the campaign.
During the campaign, awareness on different technologies like vermicomposting, oyster mushroom cultivation, natural and organic farming practices, improved varieties for Kharif season, soil health card schemes, different Government-sponsored schemes for farmers, animal health care and different methods of production of fish were delivered by scientists of different departments.
Posters on different technologies were demonstrated and literature on different technologies in local language were also distributed to empower the farming communities with latest technologies.
