Political activist stresses awareness on vaccination

Kakching, July 04 2021: Lok Jana Shakti Party's Youth Wing Dalit Sena Manipur president Nongmaithem Sanjay has stated that Hiyanglam assembly is witnessing low rate of Covid-19 vaccination compared to other ACs due to lack of awareness and politicisation of vaccination process.

Speaking during a press meet at Hiyanglam on Sunday, N Sanjay, who is also an intending candidate from Hiyanglam AC, stated that it is a great step taken up by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and chief minister N Biren to provide free Covid-19 vaccination, but there seems to be no work being done in Hiyanglam AC to raise awareness among the people who have misgivings about Covid vaccines.

On top of this it seems that politics is being done in the formation of Covid Task Force by the local MLA which has resulted in many people not coming out to receive vaccination, Sanjay alleged.

In view of this, he urged authority concerned to intensify spread of awareness on vaccination in the AC as well as reconstitute the local Covid Task Force.

He also appealed to public to come forward and get vaccinated without hesitation.
