Preparations for counting of votes in Thoubal completed

Deputy commissioner of Thoubal Ahanthem Subhash, who is also district election officer, on Saturday re-inspected the preparations made for counting of votes for the general elections to the 18th Lok Sabha to be done on June 4 at the district headquarters.
On the day of counting of votes, there will be some change in movement of vehicles along National Highway 102 (Imphal-Moreh) in front of Thoubal DC office.
Speaking to media persons at his office on Saturday, Thoubal deputy commissioner Ahanthem Subhash stated that preparations for counting of votes to be done on June 4 have been completed.
There would be some restrictions in movement of vehicles along National Highway 102 passing DC office on the day of counting votes.
All the vehicles coming from Imphal will be diverted towards Melaground Yairipok Lam-khai to pass through Nepra Company and Wangbal.
All the vehicles coming from the South will be diverted from Wangbal towards Yairipok Lamkhai and those coming from Khangabok and others will be diverted towards Arongthong and Melaground.
He further informed that those who will take part in counting of vptes will park their vehicles at Junior High School, Athokpam and the ground in front of HDFC Bank.
Vehicle of candidates and counting agents should be parked at Chaoyaima Higher Secondary School Thoubal, Khangabok High School and in front of SP Thoubal office ground.
A mobile collection centre for candidates and counting agents will be set up at Treasury office, Thoubal, he continued, while adding that only media persons with authorised letter from ECI will be allowed to enter the counting hall.
A media centre will also be set up at Treasury office Thoubal, Ahanthem Subhash added.
