Bishnupur, November 30 2024:
The women's wing of the Bishnupur Akoiba Apunba Lup (BAAL) has called on the government to immediately halt the summoning and arrest of individuals involved in the violent protest that led to the destruction of the homes and properties of several MLAs and ministers after the 3 women and 3 children abducted by armed Kuki militants were brutally killed in Jiribam.
Addressing media persons in this regard at its office premises in Bishnupur, BAAL president O Bina Devi demanded the unconditional release of all individuals arrested in connection with the ongoing conflict.
Stating that the current crisis in the state is a result of a man-made war, she warned that continuing to make arrests under the pretext of people supporting the conflict could lead to further unwanted and dangerous incidents in the future.
If these arrests persist, the mothers of the state are prepared to face any challenges without fear.
