Players' Day 2025, awareness on NLA held

Imphal, February 26 2025: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Imphal West and Imphal East, jointly celebrated Players' Day 2025 along with a publicity campaign on National Lok Adalat (NLA) on Tuesday.

As part of the initiative, extensive public awareness campaigns were conducted across Imphal West and Imphal East districts, with Lok Adalat pamphlets distributed at multiple locations to disseminate information on alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.

The event aims to enhance legal literacy and encourage the public to utilise Lok Adalat as an accessible and effective platform for dispute resolution, a release by DLSA, Imphal West informed.

It stated that the programme also featured a friendly football match at Marjing Turf, Heingang, with participation of MASLSA Football Team, Advocates CF Team, and two teams from the subordinate courts - Wayelsang FC Team A and B.The event attended by Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA) member secretary Alek Muivah as chief guest was organised under the guidance of DLSA, Imphal West chairperson Yumkham Rother, secretary Ashem Taruna-kumari Devi, DLSA, Imphal East chairperson Ningthoujam Lanleima and secretary Sadananda Sorokhaibam.

The release further informed that the commitment of legal services authorities to promoting legal awareness, access to justice, and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms was emphasised at the programme.
