RBI Financial Literacy Week 2025 begins

Imphal, February 24 2025:
In connection with the nationwide campaign initiated by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) under the theme "Financial Literacy: Women's Prosperity", the bank on-Monday inaugurated the 10th edition of the financial literacy Week, here.
The inaugural programme was attended by Institutional Finance director Ranjan Yumnam, RBI general manager (officer in-charge) N Sridhar and deputy general manager Chamailo M Samuel, Manipur Rural Bank chairman Abhay Kumar, SBI regional manager Okendra Khumukcham and PNB circle head Mansij Chakraborty.
The campaign was launched virtually by RBI governor Sanjay Malhotra from Mumbai.

Speaking at the event, N Sridhar emphasised the importance of financial literacy in today's rapidly evolving financial landscape.
"Financial literacy is essential for enabling individuals, especially women, to make informed and responsible financial decisions.
This not only secures their financial future but also contributes to the overall economic development of society," he said.
On the occasion, posters containing relevant financial literacy messages on the themes and sub-themes of the Financial Literacy Week were launched in three languages- Manipuri, Hindi and English followed by screening of various Financial Literacy videos from the 'RBI Kehta Hai' campaign.
A skit was also enacted by the staff of RBI, Imphal covering wide range of financial issues prevalent in the state including non-acceptance of coins, rising cases of digital arrest, unregulated financial instruments, and recruitment of money mules.
Throughout the week, the Reserve Bank of India and banks, in collaboration with other stakeholders will organise awareness programmes and outreach activities across the state.
These initiatives will focus on homemakers, working women, and women entrepreneurs, ensuring the widest possible impact and fostering a culture of financial responsibility and well-being.
