Kakching, August 22 2026:
Assam Rifles, in close coordination with EPIC Multispeciality Hospital, Ahmedabad, organised a mega multi-speciality medical camp at Pallel in Kakching district on Saturday, benefiting 775 civilians.
According to a release issued by IGAR (South), the joint humanitarian initiative was aimed at providing essential, high-quality healthcare services and specialist consultations directly to the local civilian population and residents of adjoining areas in their vicinity, eliminating the need to travel to distant medical facilities.
A team of experienced medical consultants from Cardiology, General Medicine, Paediatrics, Gynaecology and Obstetrics, and Ophthalmology examined patients, provided diagnoses and offered guidance on health management and treatment.
The camp benefited a total of 775 civilians, including 250 men, 375 women and 150 children.
Apart from clinical consultations, the medical professionals also counselled beneficiaries on preventive healthcare, early detection of diseases, healthy lifestyle practices and the importance of follow-up care.
Cases requiring advanced diagnostic investigations, specialised treatment or surgical intervention were assessed and referred for appropriate higher-level medical management.
The initiative received a warm response from the local community, which expressed appreciation to Assam Rifles and EPIC Multispeciality Hospital for extending specialised healthcare support to people living in remote and border areas.
