COVID count nears 150 mark, state specific guidelines on card

Imphal, June 22 2025:
The COVID 19 count in the state rose to 145 after 33 more people tested positive on Sunday.
As on date, the state has 132 active cases, after five were discharged in the last 48 hours.
A total of 101 samples were tested in the last 24 hours of which 33 turned positive, a positivity rate of 32.7 per cent.
The 33 new cases included 27 residents of Imphal West, three of Imphal East and three from Thoubal district.
Of the 132 active cases, 122 are in home isolation, and the remaining in hospitals.
The department concerned is continuing contact tracing and advised the people to follow COVID appropriate behaviour.
So far, 469 samples have been tested in the state since June 1, and 13 discharged so far.
Meanwhile, in view of the surge in COVID-19 positive cases in the state, the health services directorate has constituted State Technical Expert Committee to frame state specific guidelines for COVID -19 testing, home isolation, clinical management and others.
An office memorandum regarding constitution of the committee was issued Saturday specifying that the committee shall hold the first meeting on June 25 at NHM conference hall.
The committee is being led by director (family welfare-consultant physician) as co-chairman, joint director (PF-A) as convenor and deputy director (public health) as assistant convener.
The committee also has 10 members and four invited members.
Among the members are medical superintendents of RIMS and JNIMS hospitals, head of departments/ representatives of different departments of RIMS and JNIMS.
Specialist (medicine) of district hospital, Kangpokpi Dr Mustaque Ahmed, senior specialist (paediatrics) Dr W Ruhini of district hospital, Thoubal and public health specialist Dr Haobam Danny of Bishnupur district are also members of the expert committee.
According to the office memorandum, deputy director (public health) Dr M Vivekson will be assistant convener of the expert committee.
The four invited members are Dr A Sylvia as team leader for home isolation, Dr Jubilee W team leader for isolation wards, ICU and hospitals, Dr Achuina Gonmei as team leader COVID testing and Dr Manju Devi as team leader for COVID data management.
