IDBI scheme transforms rural classrooms

Keithelmanbi junior high school under Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council (SH-ADC), Kangpokpi, received a welcome boost on Monday with the distribution of new classroom furniture under IDBI bank's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative SEED (Supporting Education for Empowerment and Development) .
The distribution programme held at the School was organised under the supervision of Chief Executive Officer of SH-ADC Kangpokpi in the presence of several dignitaries including IDBI Senapati branch manager Annie Chawang, Kangpokpi branch manager L Paogoulen, inspector of schools, SH-ADC Kangpokpi Thangjalal Touthang, and Letkhosei Haokip, DIS, SH-ADC Kangpokpi.
In their speeches, the dignitaries underscored the importance of creating a conducive environment for students while noting that quality education depends not only on teaching but also on adequate infrastructure.
They lauded IDBI bank for extending CSR efforts to rural schools while officials of the bank reaffirmed their commitment to continue supporting initiatives that uplift the student community.
For the students and teachers of Keithelmanbi junior high school, the new furniture came as a long-awaited relief.
Meanwhile, a teacher of the school expressed that better seating arrangements will enhance classroom efficiency while students were visibly excited about the improved learning atmosphere.
