BJP to hold patriotic poetry, painting competitions

Imphal, August 16 2025:
As part of the party's 28th Patriots' Day observance, BJP Manipur Pradesh will organise a patriotic poetry competition on August 27 and a painting competition on August 31.The events aim to promote patriotism among the youth and commemorate the state's history, the Patriots' Day Observation Committee convenor, Rk Nongdrenkhomba Meitei, said in a statement.
Those interested in the poetry competition must submit their original work along with their name, address and contact number by 4 pm of August 22.For the painting competition, participants must provide a photocopy of their school ID card, name and contact number by 4 pm of August 27 at Room No 16, BJP OBC Morcha, Manipur Pradesh Office, Thambal Sanglen, Nityaipat Chuthek, Imphal.
Selected poetry entries will be notified via mobile phone.
The poetry competition will feature two categories: one for students of Class 9 to 12, offering prizes of Rs 5000, Rs 4000 and Rs 3000 respectively for the top three winners, and an open category with prizes of Rs 7000, Rs 5000 and Rs-3000 respectively.
The painting competition will also have two categories: Class 3 to 5 students with the theme "Anglo-Manipur War 1891" and Class 6 to 8 students with the theme "Chahi Taret Khuntakpa" (Seven Years Devastation) .
Both categories carry the same prize structure as the school-level poetry competition.
In addition to the main prizes, seven consolation prizes of Rs 1000 each will be awarded in every category.
