AR aids IDPs, conducts interaction meets

Imphal, May 15 2024:
Assam Rifles organised a relief distribution event for the internally displaced persons (IDPs) at the Utlou relief camp in Bishnupur district on Tuesday.
During the event, stationery items, ration and other essentials were distributed to the IDPs, including numerous children and women.
A total of 460 people received relief materials, according to PRO IGAR (S) .
In another release, the PRO informed that Assam Rifles conducted 'A Day with Company Commander and Lectures' at Phaikoh village in Kamjong district which was participated by 50 students from Phaikoh and Humine Thana villages.
During' the event, children played badminton and volleyball matches, besides visiting the Sarv Dharm Sthal to enlighten them about the concept of unity of religions and praying under one roof.
Lectures were also conducted for the children on 'Substance abuse awareness' and 'How to join Armed Forces' to broaden the horizon of the children and enlighten them about the various career opportunities available.
Meanwhile, Assam Rifles organised a security meeting with village headmen and authorities at Tusom, Ukhrul district on Wednesday.
The meeting participated by representatives of Tusom CV, Tusom Khullen, New Tusom, Wahong and Kongai villages provided an active forum to all the concerned to put forth their grievances and issues faced by them.
The importance of involving youth in sports, education, and other constructive initiatives was thoroughly deliberated and positively received by those present.
The members were also briefed on the current security landscape in the area and were encouraged to work towards fostering peace, stability and prosperity in the region, added the PRO IGAR (S) .
