DESAM rues Imphal left out of CAU job test centre

Imphal, February 15 2025: Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) condemned authorities of Central Agricultural Uni -versity (CAU) for not allotting examination centre in Imphal for the written, test in connection with recruitment of assistant registrar and assistant controller.

In a release, DESAM education secretary Oinam Romesh recalled about apprising and exerting pressure on authorities concerned for ignoring the state as one of the centres for recruitment of various posts, consequently leading to allotment of centre in the state.

Due to the conflict in the state for over 20 months, candidates are unable to travel on highways, with cost of flight fares further complicating matters.

As a result, despite preparations for the examination, many candidates will be unable to attend due to financial constraints.

Following an investigation by the student body, it was found that 70 per cent of the total candidates are from the state.

In light of this, he questioned the rationale behind not providing an examination centre in the state He further demanded to assign examination centre in the state so that the candidates might be able to appear the recruitment examination for the two posts.
