Four KCP (PWG) cadres nabbed

Imphal, July 09 2025: Security forces apprehended four cadres of the armed KCP (PWG) from different locations, according to a press note from Manipur Police Control Room.

Police apprehended two active cadres the outfit from Utlou area on Tuesday.

They have been identified as Laitonjam Ramakanta Meitei alias Bothe (34) of Uyumpok Maning Leikai and Thongam Herojit Singh (38) of Tengdongyan Mayai Leikai.

Both of them are accused of involvement in extorting businesses and from the people of Nambol area.

Ramakanta is a self-styled section commander of the outfit and he has 15 cadres as his subordinates.

Police have launched search to net remaining cadres.

Meanwhile, security forces rounded up another active cadre of KCP (PWG) from Moirang Okshongbung Ward No 11 on Tuesday.

He has been identified as Thoudam Santosh Singh alias Henthoiba (23) of Thoubal Leishangthem Thoudam Mamang Leikai.

Santosh is said to be involved in extortion activities from schools and colleges in Thoubal district.

Police recovered one Aadhaar card and one mobile phone from his possession.

Another team of security forces arrested another active cadre of KCP (PWG) from Kekrupat, North AOC on Tuesday.

The cadre, identified as Potshangbam Jeet Meetei alias Norjit (55) of Khagempalli Panthak, is accused of extorting money from brickfield owners and government employees.

Police recovered one mobile and some cash from his possession.
