SFs rescue CRPF trooper on leave

A combined team of security forces rescued a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) trooper, who was allegedly abducted by unidentified miscreants, on Wednesday.
The trooper has been identified as Lensat Sitlhou s/o Ngulkhomang Sitlhou of Keithelmanbi Military Colony (KMC).
He is currently stationed at Tactical Training Hub (TTH) in Chil Chil, Kangpokpi district.
According to a report, Lensat was on leave and enroute to his home in KMC in Champhai sub-division on his Scooty when he was waylaid and abducted by unidentified miscreants at Shantipur, a Nepali-dominated area near Gamgiphai, around 10.30am Wednesday.
On receiving news of the incident, a joint team of 22 Assam Rifles, Kangpokpi district police, Imphal West district police and CRPF launched a coordinated search and rescue operation in suspected locations and managed to safely rescue Lensat around 3pm.However, he was reportedly suffered injuries in thrashing by the miscreants.
At present, he has been handed over to the CRPF authorities.
Meanwhile, hundreds of Kuki women congregated at Gamgiphai area following the incident and intensified the checking and frisking of vehicles along the highway, the report conveyed.
