MP to premiere latest movie 'Mashunwo' on Dec 13

Ukhrul, December 07 2024: Meiphung Productions (MP) is set to host a grand release of their latest feature him, 'Mashunwo' (Justice), complete with a red carpet event, ahead of Christmas this year.

During a press conference held at the Meiphung Productions office, Hamleikhong on Saturday, CEO Aning Ruivah, flanked by COO Seema Awungshi and lead actress Philayung Jajo.

announced that the movie will premiere on December 13 at Ukhrul town hall.

Ruivah shared that more than SO per cent of the tickets for the premiere have already been sold within the first three days, with a total of 600 tickets made available for the event.

He also disclosed that 'Mashunwo' is the biggest project the production house has undertaken to date, with a budget of Rs 20 lakhs.

"In addition, it boasts of the shortest shooting schedule, completed in a mere three months' time - from September to November - with shooting taking place mostly in Mumbai, Imphal, and Ukhrul district," he said.

Seema, who handles the film's direction with Makanmi Ramror, remarked that the film is primarily an action-thriller that attempts to address the contemporary social ills, shedding light on scams, flesh trade, and corruption - a world where injustice prevails.

She elaborated that the him, scripted by Makanmi Ramror, has a unique narrative centred around a secret agent who undertakes a mission to expose the pervasive social issues plaguing society.

This film stars Philayung Jajo as the sole female lead, with supporting roles from Wun-glengsing Longleng, Amung Siro, and Chanshim Zimik.

The cinematography is crafted by Sorenzan Vashum, assisted by Akui Zings and Wurngam Ruivah, while the sound design is managed by Okchar Raping.

The makeup team is led by Astique Siro, with costume design by Yaithingchon Ronra.

Seema has also reached out to the public, encouraging everyone to show their support for both the MP team and the movie crew by attending the upcoming premiere and enjoying the experience together.

Meanwhile, Ruivah announced that the Meiphung Productions team is set to launch a web streaming platform this month, which will allow various local production houses to showcase their works on a collaborative basis.

He also shared that the MP team has decided to base its next project on the story of Luingamla Muinao, a courageous woman from Ngainga village, who faced tragic ending to protect her dignity from the Indian Army during the 1980s .

So far, the MP team has produced a total of eight Tangkhul feature films since its inception in 2014 .

The team recently commemorated its successful completion of 10 years in the show business.
