CCpur, June 05 2025: As part of the observance of World Environment Day 2025, tree saplings were planted in and around offices of the Churachandpur SP and Mini Secretariat, Tuibong on Thursday.

The participants also took a vow to protect the environment and fight the menace of plastic pollution in line with this year's Environment Day theme 'Putting an end to plastic pollution' .

A cleanliness drive was conducted during which discarded plastics and garbage were collected for a litter-free campus.

A total of 126 saplings were planted on the occasion.

Observance of World Environment Day by Kuki Students' Organisation, Churachandpur was marked by cleanliness drive of the town areas, affected by the recent flood and plantation of saplings.

The participants comprising students from Salt Brook School, Orions Academy and Eco club volunteers besides youth clubs cleaned the peace ground and its surrounding areas.

T-shirts, hand-gloves and saplings were distributed to the participants.

Similarly, Development Horizon in association with Kuki Youth Affairs and Lhan-gkichoi FPC organised World Environment Day at S Kawtlian by conducting tree plantation and cleanliness drive.

The event was marked by speeches delivered by representatives of collaborating partners and Kawtlian village authority.

Saplings were distributed to villagers as part of the initiative, reflecting the collective commitment to environmental conservation.
