Security forces nab eight cadres of proscribed outfits

Imphal, August 04 2025: Security forces have arrested eight cadres of different proscribed armed organisations from across the state.

According to Manipur Police Control Room, five cadres of KCP (PWG) involved in extortion, firing incident, kidnapping and possession of arms and ammunition, were arrested on Sunday.

The five have been identified as Mayanglambam Premkumar Singh (28) alias Manao of Kachikhul Mamang Leikai under Patsoi police station, Yambem Shital Singh (39) of Chingmeirong Maning Leikai, Sorokhaibam Inaoton Singh (38) alias Nojan of Lamsang Thong Maning, Khongbantabam Inao-cha Devi (52) of Kha Lairenkabi under Lamsang police station, and Oinam Naoba Singh (18) alias Prithi of Thanga Ngaram Leikai, Bishnupur district, presently residing at Malom Tulihal Marling Leikai.

While four of them were rounded up from their respective houses, Naoba was arrested from a house in Malom Tulihal Maning Leikai From their possessions, one 9mm pistol, magazine and a round, five mobile phones and three Aadhaar cards were seized.

Meanwhile, a cadre of PREPAK identified as Sorokhaibam Rohit Meitei alias Salai (24) of Loushangkhong Awang Leikai was arrested from Itham Thongkhong under Lamlai police station, and an Aadhaar card recovered.

A cadre of KCP(Noyon) identified as Nepram Hari Meitei alias Thembung (19) of Lamlai Chingkhu has been arrested from a farm near his residence along with recovery of an Aadhaar card.

A cadre of KCP (Taibangan-ba) identified as Heisam Bobo Singh (37) of Haobam Marak Ngangom Leikai was arrested on Sunday on the charge of involvement in extortion, serving monetary demands and collection of extortion money from schools in the valley area.

One mobile phone and Aadhaar card were seized from him.
