Son alleges medical negligence for mother's death

Family members of a patient who died at CHC, Moirang alleged medical negligence and held the doctor on duty responsible for the patient's death.
Addressing media persons at Moirang Kiyam on Wednesday, Oinam Brinanda Singh said that his mother, Shilla, died after being admitted to the CHC.
The doctor administered the wrong injection on his mother, he claimed.
Brinanda said that his mother was taken to the CHC on May 10 around 6:30 pm wherein the doctor on duty administered an injection on his mother, who was a BP and Asthma patient, without considering her medical history, Which was against medical ethics.
After receiving the injection, his mother experienced difficulty in breathing.
The doctor arranged an ambulance with only oxygen facilities, lacking proper medical support and instructed Brinanda to perform CPR on his mother en route to Raj Medicity, Imphal.
However, she was declared brought dead on reaching the private hospital.
Brinanda further mentioned that he submitted a written complaint to the health minister, director and Bishnupur CMO demanding action against the doctor.
However, no action has been taken so far.
He warned that if the authorities fail to initiate an investigation, he will pursue legal action against the accused doctor.
