Imphal, June 03 2025:
In response to the floods that have severely impacted different parts of the state, Students for Seva (SFS) volunteers of ABVP Manipur unit, in collaboration with Manipur Mountaineering & Trekking Association (MMTA), launched a relief distribution drive to support affected families with essential grocery and relief items.
In a statement, ABVP state unit informed that many homes were submerged following continuous rainfall and rising water levels, leaving families in distress and without access to basic necessities.
Acknowledging the urgent need for assistance, youth volunteers from SFS and MMTA reached out to some of the worst-hit areas to deliver food and essential supplies directly to the households in need.
"We believe that in times of disaster, it is our duty to stand with the people and provide whatever help we can," said a SFS volunteer.
The team provided grocery kits containing rice, pulses, salt, oil and other daily essentials.
The joint initiative showcased the spirit of service, unity and humanity as young volunteers came together to support their fellow citizens during this difficult period, said the ABVP Unit, adding that SFS and MMTA are committed to continue relief work.
They also called on more individuals and organisations to come forward in support of the flood-affected population.
The relief distribution drive was led by ABVP National Executive Council (NEC) member RK Yaikhomba, state unit joint secretary Rajesh Laishram, SFS Manipur in-charge K Mukta, convenor Swamidas Maimom, and other others.
