FoH lauds Sawombung Kabui Khunjao for donating land

Federation of Haomee (FoH) has expressed gratitude to Sawombung Kabui Khunjao Thoupei village for their generous donation of a plot of land for installation of an indigenous pillar.
This act of support was formalised on May 23 with a signed approval from the Thoupei village authorities.
In a statement, the federation highlighted that the village leadership promptly agreed to their proposal, reflecting a shared commitment to preserving the cultural heritage and identity of indigenous communities.
The Federation of Haomee has been actively engaged in initiatives aimed at integrating indigenous people from both the hills and the valley, emphasising the historical bonds and blood relations that unite these communities.
One of their core missions is to protect smaller indigenous groups from being assimilated into larger communities, thereby safeguarding their unique identities.
The erection of the indigenous pillar is a symbolic effort to recognise and protect identities of these indigenous communities, it said and called upon all indigenous groups to support this initiative, underscoring the importance of collective efforts in preserving their cultural heritage.
