Missing girl rescued from Mumbai by Thoubal cops

Imphal, October 31 2024: With the assistance from Mumbai police, a team of Thoubal district police and Women police station, Thoubal, on Thursday rescued a minor girl (name withheld), who had been missing, from Jasai in Navi Mumbai under Uran police station.

According to a source, the Thoubal district police along with women IOs of the women police station and assisted by Mumbai police, rescued the minor from Jasai around 2.45 pm Thursday, in connection with FIR No 20(10)2024 WPS-TBL u/s 87/142 BNS, 2023 added 4 POCSO Act, 2012 .

The team also arrested the alleged abductor, initially identified as Laishram Sanathoi Singh (25) s/o L Biramani Singh of Jiri Dibong Khunou.

The abductor's real name was later confirmed as Abdul Mannaf Choudhury s/o Abdul Zabbar of Jirighat Bagicha Part-1.The source revealed that after the transit remand is obtained from the magistrate concerned and the BCAS permission obtained for transporting the arrested accused, the team will return to the state for further necessary legal procedures.

The medical examination of the minor will be conducted, it conveyed.
