19th instalment of PM-KISAN scheme released

Release of the 19th instalment of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme was organised at Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR)-Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Chandel on February 24 .
The programme was attended by ICAR-KVK, Chandel senior scientist and head Dr A Ameeta Devi, Chandel Horticulture Department AO Naorem Rabikumar Singh and Agriculture Department AO Chandani Tarao as presidium members.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 19th instalment of the PM-KISAN scheme in Bhagalpur, Bihar with the programme webcast all over India for the farmers.
Prior to the webcast, Dr Ameeta informed the farmers that PM-KISAN scheme was launched on February 24, 2019 to address the financial needs of landholding farmers by providing an annual benefit of Rs 6,000, distributed in three equal instalments of Rs 2,000 every four months.
Chipping in, Chandani Tarao encouraged farmers to work hard, practice double cropping, and reap benefit from the same.
She also informed that criteria for availing the PM-KISAN scheme includes landholding farmer families having cultivable land registered in their names, and documents subjected to verification process.
N Rabikumar emphasised that millions have benefited from PM Kisan funds, utilising them for agricultural inputs and household heeds.
Coinciding with the event, an exhibition was also organised by the farmers displaying natural farming and organic firming products.
The programme was attended by 94 farmers.
