MSFDS invites applications for international film events

Imphal, January 25 2025: The Manipur State Film Development Society (MSFDS) has invited applications from young filmmakers, film students, and budding filmmakers from the state to participate in two major international events: the Hong Kong International Film and TV Market (FILMART) in Hong Kong from March 17-20, 2023, and the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, USA, from March 17-21, 2025 .

Interested candidates are informed to submit applications to the MSFDS office at Palace Gate by January 31.According to a statement of MSFDS, the initiative, spearheaded by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, aims to encourage participation from North Eastern filmmakers and students in global platforms.

It is intended to provide a unique opportunity for the region's aspiring filmmakers to connect with international film professionals, expand their horizons, and showcase the cultural diversity of the North East to a global audience.

In addition, the state government has already recommended a seven-member delegation for the International Film Festival of Rotterdam (IFFR), Netherlands, and the Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale), Germany, scheduled for January-February 2025 and February 13-23, 2025, respectively.

Each state delegation, as requested by the Ministry, will include two young filmmakers and five students or budding filmmakers enrolled in him schools, AVGG courses, or nominated by the Film Federation of the respective states.

The National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) will cover expenses such as airfare and accommodation, while selected participants will bear visa and daily expenses, the statement added.
