Imphal, November 23 2024:
Urging the 50 MLAs to be united in their stand and stop fighting for seats, Shiv Sena Manipur Unit president M Tombi asked the BJP MLAs to resign from their party and see what action the Central government finally takes with regard to the state.
In a press meet held at the party's office in Babupara on Saturday, Tombi said that the people should not be the scapegoat for the "verbal exchanges" between Congress and BJP.
He also condemned MLA Paolienlal Haokip's statements with regard to the Jiribam massacre and demanded the Central and state governments to book him for the same alongside the culprits involved in the incident.
Tombi continued that the government is a continuation and as such, one party alone is not at fault for the crisis that has unfolded in the state.
The government has neither taken any action against the Mizoram CM who made controversial statements in the UN nor against the 10 MLAs calling for disintegration of Manipur.
He questioned why Kuki-Zos, who are powerless in Myanmar and Bangladesh, being sent fully armed to Manipur to prey upon its innocent citizens.
He also questioned the usefulness of the central forces deployed in the state for over 18 months, while further wondering why the PM has no time to visit the state but is able to tour other countries.
He then urged for relaxing the internet ban in the interest of the people.
