State, UP sign pact on 'Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat'

Imphal, December 19 2024:
A Memorandum (MoU) of Understanding was signed on Thursday between the governments of Uttar Pradesh and Manipur for implementing of 'Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat' .
The signing ceremony held at Gomti Nagar, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh was organised by Uttar Pradesh Department of Tourism & Culture in a function attended by UP minister of culture & tourism Jayveer Singh, higher education minister Yogendra Upadhyay, and principal secretary (tourism & culture) Mikesh Kumar Meshram.
The Government of Manipur was represented by commissioner (art & culture) M Joy Singh, assisted by art & culture deputy director (programme) G Dharmadas Sharma, and Government of Uttar Pradesh was represented by special secretary (culture) Ravindra Kumar.
M Joy delivered a speech immediately after signing the MoU which was followed by presentation of two cultural items of Manipur 'Ihougal Jagoi' and 'Thang Ta' .
The MoU will come into force from the date of signing and will be valid for three years which may be renewed for another three years by mutual written consent of both sides.
The MoU contains various activities including cultural exchange programmes.
