While pitching for promoting quality education through improvement of school infrastructure and efficiency in administration, Socialist Students' Union of Manipur (SSUM) has suggested that the government appoint a new secretary of Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BSEM).
In a release, SSUM secretary general Thiyam Bikash Luwang appealed to all to make BSEM, which will decide the future of the student community, an effective entity free from controversies.
Acknowledging the role of theBSEM secretary, who is also holding the post of Education (Schools) additional director, Bikash, expressed apprehension that entrusting the task to a single official will be detrimental to efficient administration of both the institutions.
Meanwhile, lauding the initiative of BSEM to conduct special examination for sportspersons in acknowledgment of the roles and achievements of Manipuri players, Bikash further urged authorities concerned to produce quality textbooks.
