Deeksharambh 2024 underway at Tura college

A two-week Deeksharambh programme for newly admitted BSc (Hons) students in Community Science, Food Nutrition and Dietetics of College of Community Science (CCS), under the Central Agricultural University, Imphal, commenced from Tuesday.
The inaugural ceremony held with Dlag (Western Range), Tura's Dr Raghvendra Kumar MG as chief guest and CCS dean Dr Jyoti V Vastrad as functional president was attended by faculty, staff, and students.
Speaking at the event, Dr Jyoti Vastrad emphasised the significance of Deeksharambh as the starting point of a journey in higher education.
She stressed that the programme, aligned with the NEP-2020 guidelines and ICAR's Sixth Deans' Committee recommendations, would help students acclimate to their new environment, develop essential life skills, and become familiar with the institution's academic framework.
In his address as the chief guest, Dr Raghvendra underscored the importance of hard work, focus, and sincerity in daily life.
Encouraging the students to be proactive and maintain discipline to achieve their goals, he also commended the college for organising the programme to support first-year students.
Over the next two weeks, students will engage in various activities designed to help them connect with the college community, including interactions with alumni and exposure to college facilities.
The Deeksharambh programme promises to provide a solid foundation for students as they embark on their academic and personal growth journey at CCS, CAU (I), Tura, the statement added.
