Prof Chandbabu calls for reform of DMU

Dhanamanjuri University (DMU) vice-chancellor Prof W Chandbabu has underscored the importance of establishing a proper structure, implementing administrative reforms, and undertaking necessary transformations to run the university in a systematic and efficient manner.
He was speaking at a felicitation function organised in his honour and that of DM College of Arts principal Prof S Lanchenba on Tuesday.
Held at the university's auditorium and organised by the Academic Research Forum, DMU, the function was presided over by forum vice-president Prof K Indramani.
Prof Chandbabu said that a well-structured system, along with administrative reforms and other transformations, is essential for empowering the university's decision-making body.
He also emphasised the importance of promoting research activities through a comprehensive research promotion plan and opined that establishing a publication cell or division to publish research papers would not only benefit students but also serve the broader public.
The vice-chancellor further urged the administrative bodies of the constituent colleges under DMU to initiate the publication of their own academic journals by forming editorial boards, while assuring them of necessary support and assistance from the university in this endeavour.
DM College of Arts principal Prof S Lanchenba, in his remarks, reflected on the historical significance and evolution of Dhanamanjuri University.
He recounted how DM College, established in 1946, was the first and oldest institution in the state to offer higher secondary classes.
He exuded confidence that the university will continue to achieve greater milestones in the years to come.
