KYKL quartet netted; arms, ammos recovered

Based on a specific intelligence regarding movement of insurgents along the Taret River near the Indo-Myamar Border (IMB), a joint operation by Assam Rifles and Manipur Police on Wednesday led to the arrest of four KYKL cadres.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that the apprehended cadres were handed over to the police for investigation Meanwhile, acting on specific intelligence, AR, BSF and Manipur Police conducted operation at Khopijang, near Serou village under Kakching district on Wednesday and recovered two Pompi, two single barrel rifles, one country made rifle, grenades, ammunition and war like stores, said the PRO in another release, adding that recovered cache have been handed over to Manipur Police.
A joint team of Indian Army and Assam Rifles also launched a search and recovery operation in fringe areas of Thoubal and Imphal East districts on Wednesday and recovered cache of arms and ammunition.
According to PRO Defence, the operation led to busting of an arms cache being used by miscreants and recovery of one 5.56mm INSAS rifle, one 12 Bore single barrel rifle, one 0.32 pistol, three IEDs, five Grenades and other war-like stores.
The captured arms and war-like stores have been handed over to Manipur Police for further investigation and disposal, it added.
A combined team of Kakching district commandos, 131 battalion BSF and 46 AR also conducted search operation at Moltichan village under Sugnu police station and recovered cache of arms and ammunition, including bombs, on Wednesday.
According to the police report, the recoveries included three smoke bombs (teargas grenades), five stun shells, one normal tear smoke shell, five smoke shells, one long-range tear smoke shell, two grenades without detonators, two single-barrel guns, two locally made pipe bomb launchers (Pompi), one locally made small pipe gun, two black polythene bags, and three white rice bags.
The seized arms and ammunition have been handed over to the Sugnu police station for further legal action.
