Using ED against opponents 'Fascist' act: Ksh Shanta

The Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M), Manipur secretary Ksh Shanta has said that acts of vengeance by the double-engine government of BJP against opposition leaders misusing the Enforcement Directorate (ED) tantamount of 'Fascist' act.
Address party members and functionaries at the 20th local conference of CPI-M Mayang Imphal held Sunday at Mayang Imphal Thana Anilongbi Pukhri Mapal, Shanta said visionless activities of double-engine government of BJP led to communal clashes and conflict among denizens of neighbouring districts.
Harassment of political opponents including MPCC president K Meghachandra, public leaders and social activists using government agencies, particularly ED, by the present regime manifests activism common under the regimes of Fascist, Nazi and Zionists.
Regardless of the challenges and threats posed, it is responsibility of the Left, democratic, secular and progressive forces to fight BJP's double engine government, he said and appealed to people of Mayang Imphal to support secular and democratic forces.
During the conference, AK Prafullo Singh presented a report of the activities of CPI-Min Mayang Imphal area in the past three years with those gathering endorsing the report after thorough discussion.
The conference was also attended by Manipur Loumi Marup secretary Sarat Salam, secretary Haobijam Ibobi Singh, Loumi Marup, Imphal East president Yumnam Ranapratap and library activist Kangjam Chaoba.
