Wildlife week competitions in October

Imphal, September 13 2024: Along with observance of the 70th Wildlife Week, 2024 on the theme 'Wildlife Conservation through Co-existence' from October 2 to 8, Forest Department Manipur will organise several competitions and events.

According to Chief Conservator of Forests/Wildlife L Joykumar, a state level wildlife photography competition on the theme "Wild Mammals of Manipur in their natural habitat" will be held on October 7 for which wildlife photographers may submit nominations in the prescribed form within 5 pm of September 25.Application form, rules and regulations may be downloaded from the Department's website: forest.manipurforest.gov.in.

or obtained from the office of Principal Conservator of Forest/Wildlife (PCCF/Wildlife) & Chief Wildlife Warden (CWLW) Manipur.

He stated that painting competition and essay writing competition for students will be organised at district levels for which relevant details may be had from office of DFOs concerned.

The notice also invited application for the Wildlife Protection Incentive Award 2024 by individuals, civil societies, NGOs/clubs, forest officials, etc.

the incentive award honours individuals and organisations for their outstanding contribution to protection and wildlife crime control and prevention.

Nominations may be submitted through the DCFs/DFOs concerned within September 20, it added.
