Imphal, August 12 2024:
The proscribed Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) will be observing 20th Raising Day of its armed wing Miyamgi Fingang Lanmi (MFL) on August 13.The Raising Day also coincides with Patriots' Day, the never ceasing day of August 13, 1891, which reminiscence the historical incident to sneak out from colonialism and imperialism, a KCP statement issued by MFL Military Affairs Committee said.
According to the statement, MFL was formed on August 13, 2004 at Chothe Munpi village under Henglep sub-division in Churachandpur district as an armed wing for the organisation was necessitated to carry forward the liberation movement for Manipur.
On the occasion, the outfit also pays highest honour to MFL martyred during the course of liberation movement of Manipur (Kangleipak) as well as brave heroes of the Anglo-Manipuri war of 1891.The outfit also paid revolutionary salute to all the martyred revolutionaries of WESEA and Manipur (Kangleipak) and shared pain and suffering of those languishing in jails.
In a message delivered to the people on the occasion, Military Affairs Committee of MFL said Manipur (Kangleipak) was never a native state of India, historically and politically.
Manipur (Kangleipak) indeed is a historically evolved state in South East Asia having own historical legacy with thousands of years of sovereign status.
India might consider Manipur (Kangleipak) as their part after the Merger Agreement of 1949.However, people of the land should not remain careless about the past incident and mute spectator to distortion of history of the land or else there will be no future.
The statement while referring to George Orwell's famous quote 'Who controls the past controls the future; who controls the present controls the past', asked as to who controls the 'past' and 'present' Manipur (Kangleipak).
While urging people to see which tactics and path government of India applies to suppress the liberation movement of Manipur (kangleipak), the KCP statement said it is globally accepted norms to resolve a conflict situation either through dialogue or converting armed groups into politicians.
Such a resolution, however, contradicts objectives of the long launched liberation movement and even rendered the liberation movement meaningless midway.
This type of conflict resolution is one-sided and the underlying meaning of this ploy is to weaken and destroy armed groups, the message said and reminded people about how Maoist movement in Nepal ended after CPN(M) comrades who launched 'People's War' were brought into electoral politics.
In the same tactic and path applied in ending Maoist movement in Nepal, the Indian government is pursuing various policies to suppress and extinct revolutionary groups of WESEA region.
Narco-terrorist Kukis trained by the Assam Rifles have long been utilised in fighting Naga revolutionaries which is not a recent phenomenon.
After sidelining Naga revolutionaries, well-armed narco-terrorist Kukis launched attacks on unarmed Meetei villages since May 3, 2023 and began a 'proxy war' as a part of India's policy.
There is no sign of ending the war even after 15 months and every sector including administration, economy, education, health and culture and tradition have been severely affected while there is no future for the youth.
The present situation is almost like 'Culture of Homelessness' and a crucial phase for the history of Manipur (Kangleipak), the message said adding that government of India orchestrated everything to create such dire situation.
