Search ops continue; no arrest, seizure made

Imphal, July 12 2024: Security forces continued to conduct search operations at various places on Friday.

According to a police report, a team of Imphal West district police searched 40 houses and verified 120 people during one such operation conducted in Leikinthabi area under Sekmai police station from 6am till 8am while a combined team of Kakching district police, 37 Assam Rifles and 126 Bn BSF examined 30 houses and 120 people in Wabagai Lamkhai under Hiyanglam PS from 6 am till 7.05 am.

A combined team of Thoubal district police and 134 BSF also conducted search operation from 4 am till 6.45 am at Nepra Company Awang Leikai, Mayai Leikai and Makha Leikai under Thoubal PS during which 82 houses were searched and 151 people verified as a joint team of Chandel district police and G-93 BSF carried out patrolling and area domination in Heibunglok and surrounding areas under Chandel PS from 7.05 am till 8 am.

Another combined team of Chandel district police, 8MR and E/200 BSF also conducted area domination in Ringphe village area under Chakpikarong PS from 7 am till 8.30 am on Friday.

Meanwhile, a joint team of Churachandpur district police, 36 AR, and 4 and 31 ITBP conducted search operation in Khaukual and Bijang areas under Saikot PS from 8 am till 11.30 am covering around 32 houses and verification of 57 .

There is no report of arrest made or seizure of weapon in these operations.
