Imphal, June 11 2024:
Expressing concern over appearance of students of Maipakpi New Age Public School, Langthabal, which remained closed for a long period time, in the Class X examination conducted by BSEM, Apunba Ireipakki Maheiroi Sinpanglup (AIMS) has demanded BSEM to de-recognise the school and announced indefinite ban on functioning of the said school.
In a release, AIMS said that it has been suspicious about some schools flouting rules and regulations of BSEM and commercialisation of educational institutions.
Accordingly, names of such schools were presented to the BSEM chairman and secretary for taking up necessary actions.
Stating that sharing of school recognition is akin to commodification of the students, the release said that Maipakpi New Age Public School which remained closed for long time suddenly took part in the Class X examination conducted by BSEM.
It is questionable how such school without any authority manages it.
AIMS had been trying to meet its founder numerous times but could not, it revealed.
Moreover, it is confusing whether BSEM is still following its rules and regulations.
Is the job of BSEM only to conduct examination and providing recognition/affiliation, AIMS questioned, while stating that it would not be wrong to infer that the commodification of students by some schools is because of the failure to BSEM to take up necessary measures from time to time.
The release urged BSEM to look into those schools affiliated under it and check whether they are properly following the rules and regulations.
