IIIT-M, DMU sign MoU to promote academic, research initiatives

Imphal, July 09 2025: Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Manipur and DM University entered into a partnership on Wednesday by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen academic excellence and research collaboration.

The agreement was signed by DM University vice chancellor Prof Chandbabu, and IIIT Manipur director Prof Krishnan Baskar, with the shared goal of enhancing interdisciplinary cooperation between the two institutions.

Under the MoU, the two institutions will promote joint academic and research initiatives, exchange scholarly knowledge, and develop collaborative research projects.

Both institutions have agreed to share educational resources and research outputs to enrich teaching and learning experiences.

Additionally, the partnership includes organising joint seminars, workshops, and conferences on themes of mutual interest , as well as facilitating faculty participation in such events.

A key component of the agreement is the mutual sharing of laboratory and research infrastructure, enabling students and faculty access to enhanced facilities.

The MoU also encourages PhD co-guidance, allowing eligible DM University faculty members to serve as co-supervisors for doctoral research at HIT Manipur.

Furthermore, the institutions will explore short-term faculty exchange opportunities, including visiting assignments, under mutually agreed terms.

This collaboration marks a significant step towards fostering an innovative academic environment, promoting knowledge exchange, and establishing long-term institutional synergy between HIT Manipur and DM University, informed a statement issued by HIT, Manipur registrar Dr Nongmeikapam Kishorjit.
