FOCS sticks to Mar 8 Imphal-Senapati rally

Imphal, March 06 2025: Federation of Civil Society Organisations (FOCS) president T Manihar has announced that it would take out a public rally from Imphal to Senapati on March 8 carrying the message of peace and normalcy.

Briefing the media at FOCS' Kabo Leikai office on Thursday, Manihar welcomed the union home minister's assurance for free movement in the state from March 8, and as such, the Federation would be taking out a rally from Imphal to Senapati with a message of peace and normalcy.

He appealed to all concerned to extend their support in this regard.

He continued that the rally would be flagged off from the northern gate of Kangla and might extend up to Mao if the situation permits.

Anyone who wish to participate is to arrive at northern gate between 8am to 8.30 am .

The rally is based on the 'Idea of Manipur' and not against any community or religion, he stated.

Reflecting on objections raised by different Kuki bodies, Manihar said that the decision to take out the rally would not change and appealed to all to extend support instead of opposing it .
