Governor exhorts SSI students to strive for excellence

There is nothing in the world that can replace hard work and one must toil to succeed in life, expressed Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla.
The Governor made the statement during his visit to Sainik School, Imphal (SSI) on Monday, accompanied by his better half Jyoti Bhalla, Red Shield Division GOC & chairman LBA SSI Maj Gen SS Kartikeya, SSI principal Col A Rajiv, vice principal Col SK Singh and other prominent persons.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Ajay said that the future of the nation lies in the hands of the youth.
He expressed confidence that the cadets of Sainik School, Imphal would strive and excel in diverse fields and hold positions of great responsibility, while encouraging them to uphold the values of discipline, determination, and service to the nation.

The Governor also interacted with the cadets, motivating and encouraging them to pursue excellence in all spheres of life.
He said that the cadets must never forget that nothing can replace hard work, adding that success is guaranteed when one works hard.
During the visit, Governor Ajay also laid a wreath at the Amar Jawan' memorial, honouring the brave soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice for the nation, followed by Guard of Honour presented by the cadets and the school band.
He also inspected various built-up areas and reviewed on-going development projects, including the construction of the Girls' Hostel in the school campus.
He inaugurated a new Water ATM near the Vikram Batra auditorium, in the presence of officials from the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) .
As part of the nationwide initiative "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam", the Governor and his better-half planted saplings of Holy Rudraksha tree (Elaeocar-pusganitrus) in the campus: A special programme Was later held at the Vikram Batra-Auditorium, where the Governor formally released the school's annual magazine, "Orchid".
School principal Colonel A Rajiv expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Governor for his continued support and encouragement to the youth of Manipur.
He also thanked the Governor for organising the Kargil Vijay Diwas commemorations and for supporting the ongoing Durand Cup 2025, both of which serve as vital platforms to instil patriotism and promote sportsmanship among the younger generation.
Later, the Governor also witnessed vibrant display of cultural performances by the cadets.
The event concluded with Governor Ajay penning his reflections in the Visitor's Book, marking the end of a memorable and meaningful day at Sainik School Imphal.
