Search ops on, arms recovered

Imphal, July 04 2024: Combined security forces conducted search operations in different areas and recovered arms on Thursday.

According to police, Churachandpur district police, 5 Sikh Regiment and CRPF F-129 Battalion jointly conducted search operation at Laika Mualsau, Nabil and Phunchong in Churachandpur district from 8 am to 11.30 am.

During the search operation, 13 houses were searched, 20 people verified and recovered three pumpi and one improvised (pumpi) bomb.

Similarly, a combined team of Bishnupur commando, CRPF D/71, Kumaon Regiment, 19 Gharwal Regiment and Phougakchao Ikhai police station along with women personnel conducted search operation at Kwakta ward no 4 and 5 in Bishnupur district from 6 am to 8 am, searched 80 houses and verified 180 people.

A combined team of Kakching district police and BSF A-Coy 126 battalion also conducted search operation at Kakching Moirangthem Leikai from 6.40 am to 7.40 am.

During the operation, 47 houses were searched and 81 persons verified.

Under the supervision of Jiribam district senior SP M Pradip, a combined team of Jiribam police station and 39 Assam Rifles conducted search operation at Uchathol and thoroughly searched 70 houses.

However, there was no arrest in the search operations.
