Imphal, January 04 2025:
Taking note of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) staying with their relatives or acquaintances, Universal Mothers' Organisation (UMO), has appealed to the state government to make living arrangements for them.
In a press meet held at UMO's office in Lamphel on Saturday, president Moirangthem Sarojini said that while many of the IDPs are staying in relief camps, there are also others who have sought refuge in places/houses of their relatives or acquaintances.
Considering their plights, she urged the government to make some kind of living arrangements for them.
Sarojini also threw light on the uneven stipends provided to different IDPs in different relief camps.
She also urged the authorities to provide monetary assistance to those not staying in relief camps, while assuring that UMO would extend all possible help in this regard.
